best way to fish the Russian?

Any tips on the best way to fish the Russian for smallies?  Are there shuttles services that will move your car downstream-is it necessary, etc?  Thanks for any insight you can give me.

Jody the River is pretty low for a drift unless you go below Dry Crk Start in Healdsburg and Take out a Steelhead Beach. Let me know when you go and since you are from my hometown I will try and work out a shuttle for you.

Soar Inflatables at Healdsburg has shuttle service. $15 per group to shuttle you back, $25 per group if they drive your car to Wholer. Reservation required. Watch out for the first little rapid below Memorial beach. My newbie friend was dumped because the little rapid would greet the unprepared within a few minutes into the float trip. Otherwise the float trip from Healdsburg to Wholer is very pleasant.
