we went off trinidad today. Windy, raining heavy swell, perfect north coast day. Drtyrussin had the killer bait that the greenlings were fighting over. he gets honors for the day with a monster green. the one on top of the stack is 15 inches, just imagine what the one on the bottom is. had a killer time an got to meet a new fishing partner, all who didn't go missed out.

Thanks for the report (This should be in the fishing reports section!). I definitely missed out, getting skunked on the salmon charter.
I'll give it a try tomorrow morning. Were you in the cove the whole time? Or did you venture out in the swell? Looks like the bell buoy in one of those shots. Thanks.

we fished around prisoner, out past the bell bouy and around the front of the head. We got all the greenlings in the kelp by the wall. we had moved into the cove more  by aftertoon to get out of some of the wind and heavy swell.

BTW - I'm assuming that both of you had your catch on that stringer.  The limit on greenling is 2 over 12".   :smt001

I noticed that myself, a note here, I assumed that those were both of your catches, but I'm not a warden,

I was only in fish and game court once and there was a pair of fisherman who had to appear to explain that exact situation to the judge, he did dismiss the overlimit charge after on the one guy cited, (a reasonable explanation resulted in a reasonable response)

So just a note of caution, separate stringers can save you some trouble.

ya that was both our catch. That was just what we kept, we were using 3'' berkley gulp shads in bright pink, the fish were hammering em. I caught the black on a shrimp fly rig tipped with a 6'' jack smelt out on the backside of prisoner. we were hoping for some lings but none showed up, and conditions were getting worse as the day went on so the greens were nice enough to give us some action farther in.
