9+ miles we paddled on those ponds that day - do you have any idea how many laps that is???

Believe me, Ben, we tried like hell.  At one point, I was bouncing a 10 in Kalins Jumbo curly tail on 8 oz head.  All I could show for it were snaggle toothed bucketmouths in the range of ~22".  Jigging that much lead is a chore.

After Aaron and I landed, we talked to one guy who fished right out front for his two-fish limit of just legal largemouth.  yeah, you may be able to catch em close, but what's the fun in that?

Then, as we were packing up, we saw a group of elderly asian gents land, each one getting progressively closer to eating it.  When the last guy was on final approach, everybody just KNEW he was gonna biff, so hesitant was he in the surfzone.  Sure enough, he gets sideways to a wave and YARDSALE!
