Martin and I are planning a troll attempt for stripers on Tue. We want to launch at the foot of First St. in Benicia about 7:30 am. This is a no cost, public area with excellent parking, very close and easy walk to the beach. I am too short on WAF points and its a birthday for Martin's son, so we'll have to split about 11:00 am. Tide shows an outgoing current until 10:00. Two rods are legal with a second rod stamp as this is upriver from the Carquinez Bridge. Looking for some good NCKA's to join us.

Mon. is alright by me, would infringe on Martin's religion though. I'm not someone wanting to step on a dudes religion.

What religion would that be?  I am an ordained minister in the Universal Life Church.  It was the thing to do in the sixties and seventies.  If there are any NCKAers looking for someone to officiate over a wedding, I can legally perform the service as long as it isn't on a Monday. :laughing7:  A yak wedding????

Wow, Martin that's profound. But for me, the only union I'm looking for on the water is a tight line to a striper. My stupid comment was in reference to not fishing on weekends. Monday holiday I considered a weekend extension. Now is that spelled stripper or striper. davey dum dum

This will be my first time fishing this area.   I'm pretty sure Dave knows it well since it's his back yard.  Is trolling toward the fleet the best way to fish it?  I was planning on using rattle traps.  Any advice?

Yes, trolling toward the fleet is more productive for Stripers but I would do it on a flood tide and ride the current back during the ebb tide.

Sonny has it right. We won't try to fight the current. We'll be fishing along Southhampton Bay at the depth change to Southhamption Point and back. Short day for us.
