I would like some to compress my file from 3.4 M to 1.5K my file so I may submitt to the Dav. Derby Topic.
                                                          Thanks

Go to the raw file (in a "my pictures" folder or something?...), right click on the photo that you want to compress, select "Send to" and "Mail Recipient" or the like.  This is where I have an option that pops up that will compress the file or files I'm wanting to email.  If you can do this then just compress it and email it to yourself.

Good luck.

Hi Earnie,

By definition a JPEG file is already compressed. You might be able to make the file size somewhat smaller by compression, but what I think you really want to do is make the picture smaller.

My favorite tool for this kind of thing is irfanview. You can download it for free at http://www.irfanview.net/. Easy to install. Browse to your picture to load it, select "resize/reimage" from the Images (I think) menu and "save as". Easy peasy  :smt002

No need to buy or download anything.

Open the file in Paint* select  Image->Stretch/Skew. Then under Stretch, reduce the image to 20% in height and width ( or some other percentage) and then "Save As" in order to not overwrite the original jpg.

*Right click on the file, and select "Edit"   or go to "Run" and type in "mspaint".  Open the file from there.
