Since moving up the River instead of just taking a walk we swim across the river and fish or just walk up the gravel bar then swim back it wipes him out and I get to take a rod on dog walks too cool.

The smallies are getting very aggressive looks like a fall bite, when you hook a fish there are 10 following trying to take the lure outta his mouth, and they are getting fat :smt007
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

Cool - I wanna do that.   :smt001  I'd sit in my little yak in about 6" of water though so I could get some easy AOTY points.   :smt003

Oh man , please, have mercy! Just stop having so darn much fishing fun. Stop this now before someone goes mad! We are going through withdrawls already :smt009

You lucky dog and your lucky dog have the life. Just wait until the Steelhead and Shad runs--you'll have box seats.

Nice Smallies.  Thanks for the report and pictures Mike.

that first smallie is a real nice one.  I envy you.  I fished for smallies in the Russian once about a year ago and haven't been back.  I have been wanting to badly ever since.  I think that was the best paddling and fishing I have experienced in my life.  I got bit at almost every boulder-filled bend in the river, and the scenery was unreal.  Thanks for sharing Mike.

Interesting thing is, how at the right time of the year they show how big they REALLY  are in the river. They are always there, and always gotta eat, but findin' em can be the challenge. Nice red eyes. Glad you like your new backyard.  :smt001

glad you came out of the closet and moved to the river (smallie lover closet).  I used to do floats for miles in my float tube and hook smallies.  Best fight pound for pound of any fish around! Thanks for sharing the experience!

Mike, I just need one of those SMB and a salmon and I am done with the AOTY. No need to upgrade because there is no way I can even come close to Patrick.  :smt003
