Be sure to NOT take advice from anyone who's bitter from getting skunked up there!   :smt005

Jake - Read a few reports about it, do a little research on other boards.  You can launch from the bank up past Klamath Glen and have a chance at a salmon or a steelhead.  It can be a very long time between bites though - Good Luck!   :smt001

Without giving it all away, fish can be caught up and down the river if you are in the right place at the right time. Most importantly...here are a couple items to keep you out of trouble......

Obtain a Salmon Card prior to your trip
Fill out the card each morning prior to launching
Barbless hooks (and there are limits on what size hooks you can use)
Know the difference between a Silver and a King
Know how to spot a wild vs hatchery steelhead
Respect the locals and the netters

You may know all the above but it's worth repeating...Good Luck, Have Fun, and Be Safe

That's actually good info for me.  i didn't know about the salmon card.  I'm from Ohio and somewhat naive of the ways of the west the regs are much stricter here

Thanks,
Jake

Give the native gillnetters a wide berth. More than a stone's throw. :smt044 And especially on Friday and Saturday nites or any other nites they have a bunch of money for beer, etc. :smt003 jim

me and a buddy fished there on the 31st. we got none but we saw a nice hookup on another boat and watched the netters pull up some nice fish. the river is hard to fish by the mouth, solid wall of nets and motor boats. and watch out for jerks, we had some guys, not netters but fishermen swerve up the river so they could race in between me and my buddys kayak at full speed laughing. but had good time and can't wait to get back up there
