I wil be launching from gerstle cove.  The launch there is a lot easier than fort ross and more protected.  I also like the fish cleaning station and nice restrooms etc right close to the water.

Trav~
You gonna head north or south?
I have decided to launch from Ocean Cove. The easier I can get my monster abs and lingzilla and weight belt and anchor..ect..ect..ect..to my truck the better. Will be staying the night there as well so this works best for me.
Hopefully my handheld vhf will arrive by then.

I will have my radio on channel 69.  I don't know which way I will be headed.  Maybee I will head south and we can meet up.  You should think about launching at gerstle cove you can drive down close to the water to unload and the walk to the parking lot is maybee 100 yards.

HMMMMMMM, carrying gear for 100 YARDS vs. 10 FEET. Let me ask my aching back about that one. :smt005 My Back says Ocean Cove.
Are you going to do any abalone diving? I am for sure. If you are interested I can hook you up with a sweet spot provided the swells aren't there. 8 feet of water is all ya need to go down.
You staying the night?

You can back right down by the water to unload.  Maybee a 20 foot walk from the loading zone.  The only bad thing is that there is a 2 foot drop or so at the bottom of the road, so if you have a big yak you are probably going to need a hand launching it.  I am not doing any ab diving.  I am just driving up for the day, I should arrive around 8am.  I am still watching the report closely, I don't want to drive all the way down there if it is gunna be nasty.  It looks like there is a monster swell rolling in sometime this weekend.  Hopefully it will hold off til later.
