Theresa and I had some GREAT food based upon your recommendations. We ate Saturday night at Lillian's and it was awesome, definitely the best Italian food we have had in years! I ordered a nice bottle of wine and we got the sauteed mushrooms for an appetizer. Theresa got the polenta and marinara (country gravy) and I had the penne primavera with arrabiata sauce and a grilled chicken breast (Lil's Special). The entire dinner was wonderful. We followed up with a nice drive along the coast and then had ice cream at Ice Cream by Mariannes, which was fabulous too! Theresa had carmel fudge crunch and I had the Mexican chocolate (my favorite!)

This morning we slept in and then had breakfast at the Santa Cruz diner. Theresa had "pigs in a blanket" with apple chicken sausage, I had chicken fried steak and eggs. Again, it was a great meal, and cheap!

Thanks so much for everyone's suggestions. It was our first time in Santa Cruz and we really enjoyed it. I think we'll be headed back there again sometime soon.  :smt007

Oh, isn't SC fun???   :smt003  Love the SC Diner, can go there every time and find something different to eat.  And of course Marianne's is just Da Bomb!!!  Try the Cardamon Pistachio sometime, my favorite!!!  Glad ya liked the suggestions  :smt004

I was surprised by how many people that told me that they liked that old avatar, so it's back by popular demand! :smt044
