e2g,

Well the BigYak is my first kayak, so I really don't have anything to compare it to...seems great to me!!

It was economical, came with two flush mounted rod holders, one Scotty, a seat and paddle, and a life-time warranty from LL Bean...

It is light and short enough for me to pick up and carry easily...it seems super stable OTW and that is good cuz I am kinda big and wobbly!!

I don't have any "inside" storage, and am sure other yaks are easier/smoother to paddle...

BUT it is working great for what I wanted it for: to be able to go out fishing as often as possible without having to rent a boat and regardless of friends who more often than not would flake at the last minute...

Most of the fishing I have done/am doing is right here in Capitola/Santa Cruz and I have had no problem getting out there and having a blast...

As I get more experienced I hope to be able to get out and explore other areas, but right now family/work/time/$$ are keeping me close to home and the BigYak is working great!!!

Sincerely,

Jim
