Having a family, there's no 100% definite, but 80% chance I should be able to join you.  Pacific Grove is beautiful, so I wouldn't mind either MBK or Point Pinos, but how's launching/landing at Point Pinos with the swell/wind forcast?   What about parking?  Since we've been catching fish at MBK, do we really want to try a new location?  Or are you guys looking for adventures? :smt003
Mooch, Sunrise's at 7:16 :smt015 :smt076 :smt003

Kathy and I will be there.  Joel can Kathy borrow the scupper pro? I'll have her make cookies.

Henry - how does 7:30 sound?  :smt002

I honestly would like to explore other options but IMO, it all boils down to the best possible conditions. The one thing I LOVE about Monterey is that there are many options available - and they are within an easy drive. Parking will be the issue, but getting there early should give us an advantage.

we'll figure something out before F-DAY (fish-day)

sure - no problem. Just bring a paddle and a PFD. You got my cell # right?

Tell Kathy she can borrow the scupper only if she'll give me that Erik K. rod that she won at the Elk raffle  :smt002

You guys may want to rethink this thing.....Monterey seas...NE winds 5-10 knts, becoming West 10-20 knts in afternoon.  Wind waves 3 ft. North West swell 7 to 14 ft.  It can change.

I am just giving you a hard time on the start time, Joel.  :smt002  Anytime is fine with me.  I was actually the first one there at MBK at 5am last Sunday.  Let's hope the condition will be ideal for us, but mother nature rules.  Thanks for the heads up, Ken.

With a forecast like that, if you guys are still going to go! launch out of San Carlos boat ramp(next to coast guard) there is tons of parking if there early(pay lot) paddle straight out of harbor. stay on a somewhat parallel line with jetty. line up with jetty and second red can nice reef system all around their. with the high swells, fish in water from 70 to 120 feet that is were you will have the best luck. just my two cents and if i was going with a forecast like yours, that's were i would be

As you pass over sandy areas, it is where you can load up on sand dabs as well.
Bring quarters for the meters.
