First time  at Tomales so went to reconnoiter in the Gregor.  Launched at a ramp about a mile south of the restaurant.  Used a sabiki with squid for a dozen mackerel.   Most caught around the launch.  That kept me busy enough so didn't put down for halibut. Most all of the boats were around the Island.   None around me saw any action.

The mackerel are in the oven now.  If there edible I'll go again.  Take the Yak board in the Geo next time.

Of course they're edible  :smt003 Some people love them, some don't.  Thanks for the report Kirill.

The ones I caught last Sunday were great on the grill last night, with a nice rich Syrah to go with them. Yum. I was on a sardine run, so I mostly threw back the macks, a couple dozen easy. They were in big schools out south of the island, along with the sardines and jacksmelt. Triple hookups were common on my 3-hook sabiki. Fun! See my previous report for pics.

Andy,

It was your earlier post that inspired me to go to Tomales.  If it's not a secret, can you post the Tegame alla Vernazzo recipe.  Net search did not yield one for me.
