Hey,
There are alot of sardines and seals off capitola pier.  We used sabiki rigs to catch sardines and tried for halibut, but I think there must be too much bait in the water to catch halibut.

always wonder about that myself.  If there is too much bait in the water, are the fish full?  I mean if I toss a donut into a breakfast buffett, are people going to bite? :smt003

I prefer to think it is more like opening a can of beer at a college frat party. Yea they maybe drunk but put a beer in their hand and they will drink.

lots of bait out there today when i went. and the halibut i caught was packed with sardines but i guess he had room for 1 more :smt003
