Thinking about trying my luck again on tuesday. No real set time (between 6:30 and 8am) It depends on how I feel in the morning.  Putting in at Nick's.

Not sure where Nick's is but I'll be there camping at Lawson's Landing - that day we were planning on going down towards Marshall for more of a paddling day - renting a yak for my 12 year old daughter.

Look for a green OK scrambler - hope to see you otw

I was on the water for six hours today and got the skunk.  Tons of bait!  A couple boats I talked to caught fish and others were skunko.  Hopefully it's picking up.  Definitely fish there.

Hey Wally, Nick's cove is  the name of the launch directly across form Hog Island.  I'll be in a green Tarpon 140. I might not be going now. Something has come up so its up in the air.

people weren't kidding about the wind on tomales - it was blown out mon. afternoon and it was a wild night at lawsons landing - about 2 am the big wind gusts hit - annihilated my tent lifting the side that had all of our food and cooking supplies - it held together for about 1/2 hour then one tent pole came loose and the domino effect kicked in.  was about 20mph all night until that point - in any case it looks like a great place to go but not for my daughter's first yak experience in those conditions - we packed it up and are hitting avila beach this week.

met some really nice folks that kicked down some rock crab and all in all it was a good time - as my daughter says - "it was an adventure".

next time i travel there I'm bringing the aluminum and a pair of waders as a backup
