Clean work, Porky!

I'm using 10 nimh AA's wired up in shrink wrap, and yes they do wear out fast but they are cheap and I do get 2-3 uses, (full days otw) between charges.

I'm intrigued by the LiPo's but charging every trip is a bummer.

Hey Eric, no need to charge every trip with the lipo. I just do it out of habbit. I bet youd get a week or more of straight fishing every day with the lipo. I checked the voltage after 2 straight long days of fishing and the battery wasnt even tapped into. Still very strong. I alreadtly had all the stuff already so it was easy to get into the lipo thing. The rc lipos are designed to be ran for long periods of time at a large amp draw. Could honestly get 2 weeks of fishing from it possibly. They come in all kinds of sizes and capacities.   Cool battery, but can be pricey to get into.

Thanks for the deal on the paddle too. :)

Lipo's are pretty cool. All the RC Airplane guys use them now .. very light .. hold charges for a long time with very little power curve until the end ..
My son (30 years old) and his friends buy them on line very inexpensively .. I'll find out where for you guys, they buy allot of them.
If you drain them down too much, though - like he said - it kills the battery - dead !
They have had one blow up on them so far.  If you go to YOUTUBE and search for lipo explosion
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=lipo+explosion&search_type=&aq=1&oq=lipo+
you will see a few in action .. but .. don't let it scare you .. he didn't set my field on fire in Penngrove.
I called him, waiting for a call back .. China, I think, is the biggest seller of these things.

These batteries will usus omly catch fir/explode if you put too many amps into them while charging, racers do this for a faster charge and the push the limits, for a fish finder theres no reason to charge at high amp's

There lookimng for a fst charge and performance from a rc motro weather it be plane or car....

so if the lipo is a 2400mah, charge it at no mopre then 2.4 amps.

for the FF, i just charge at 1.5 amps, no problems

never had a incident while charging for racing either, i just follow the rules and do not force charge...
