Hi Diver:

I almost didn't get Wet because, I was broke down in S of Cloverdale.
I made it to VanDamm at 4:00am.  I put down some insulite next to the Fire Ring and took a Cat Nap.
I hit the N. Point and, it was just to much of a Coaster ride with
all the Rocks taking on some good size Swells. :smt044 I decided it
wasn't going to Happen with so much Rip and my Fav Reef covered in white water. :smt010
Most of my time was spent keeping my self from being tossed overboard while paddling Through wash Rocks and Channels.
My BP was racing so I headed for the Kelp to Buffer the Swells and
push me towards the South Island. The Lee side provided a much needed relief but, the South End Crack wasn't safe.
I did a reality check because I still was the only Diver out. Most of my Fav. spots were a wash except for, the next protected Cove area which is about 1 Mile S.
The N. entrance of the Channel was a little tricky because, you need to keep your turn tight so not to get slammed into the Cliff! Once I powered
into the Cove it was like a swimming pool! :smt007
I took a lot of time watching the Rips and Swells nothing worse than
being in a Washing Mach. It took my time to just sit on the reef and let the water cool me down from the trip.
After a few Dives and adjusting my Gear I found some nice 8" and
had a great time in the "Ab Zone" where I felt at Peace with the Ocean.
I had to make it a short trip or I would have stayed for the Sun.
My pis. are only of the Shore and ,I will try to Post. I was too frighten
to let go of my Paddle to try to pull out my Pentax! :smt009
VanDamm is still one of the easyest Launch but, is getting too close to "The Edge" this time of Year.

It's a good feeling to be "at Peace with the Ocean".  Thanks for the report Ernie.

Bruddah Ernie, I'm glad you made it out there safely with some decent size snails. This is the time of the year that you have to pick your days to get out there.  Once again, congrats and make sure try not to go out alone in those condition.
