Pictures tell a thousand word.

I hooked up with a couple of boats off the Humboldt Tuna Board for a quick prospecting trip up north to Oregon. I was the guest of an old friend from work Jimmy Y, he fishes Humboldt Coast on a 21 foot Striper. He was itching to go up to Charelston as the SST's shot showed warm water at 20 +- miles. We met up with Colly M and Rbob at the motel Monday night and made plans for the next day. Lots of excitment, not much sleep when all you can think of is that big patch of fish out there. Captain Johns Motel is where we stayed and it is a full on fisherman notel motel, they have a boatwash and fish cleaning station and it is fairly quiet. We woke early launched the boats on a beautiful well maintained ramp in Charelston and headed west at 270 for 1.5 hours. The ride was a little thumpy at first but Rbob assured us the water would settle down and as we drove farther it did. The clones went in at 27 miles with the first fish an hour later. We traded hookups with Colly M and Rbob for the day with a spotty bite. At the end we had 2 doubles and a triple hookup for a total of 11 fish. 21.8 lbs for the big fish and 190 total on our boat, Colly M and Rbob kicked our asses with a 30 lb and 13 fish with one a blue fin. Drinks on us.. Anyway saw lots of sharks, some birds, a big container ship and 2 whales on the ride in.

Made the trip home on wed and cleaned fish all afternoon. Very teri albacore steakes wraped in bacon, seared on the barby OHOHOH......... some great white from lost coast to wash down. We ate half a fish. Funny how all your buddys come over all at the same time.......

Today is canning day and boy does it smell in the yard.

Thanks and forgive me as I used a powerboat..

I love to read fishing reports.  It doesn't matter if you catch them from shore, kayak, boat, or air plane  :smt003  Thank you for the report and pictures.

"Thanks and forgive me as I used a powerboat.."

Nice to see others got into them. Great pictures and write up.  Funny thing though, Patrick and I talked plenty on how we were out of sorts on the boat. With all that deck space things seem to be way unorganized ......
