Thanks for sharing the nice report and pictures of your "mini vacation" BigDog! 

BD in you pics you said the cows went after the ashes. Do they do that normally? Why?

EWB, yes. The always do it. If I forget to put away the BBQ, they destroy it also. The reason is the minerals that are in the ashes. We even see them rooting around in the ash piles left over when we burn the big piles of tree slashings. I have had a giggle more than once when one was rooting around in a pile that still had embers deep in it.

my thoughts exactly a nose full of glowing embers can't feel good!
