Okay sorry this is a bit late, i'm still pretty new to the site and my pc took a dump, so right now i'm currently posting this through my cell.   A couple  buddies of mine went out to FR, weather was nice, wind wasn't too bad and the swells were tolerable.  From the launch, proceeded to the usual spot.. south forest, about 50-60 yards out.  Wasn't expecting much, hoping for a couple of china's at least with my little green and yellow squid skirts.  Dropped it, hit bottom, and lo and behold... SNAG! yanked on it a couple of times, gave up, and decided to paddle forward to release it... it did.  Being a rookie kayak fisherman, i'd figure to pull it up and relocate, negative.  Dropped back down, and soon as i hit bottom, line ran like hell and felt heavy too... thinkin' it might be a good sized china, 'cause it sure as hell seemed like it was pulling me towards that direction.  Finally got it at least halfway up and the thing was still yankin' until its head hit about midship stbd side of my boat.  From its teeth and primitive look i thought, "wow, my first ling.... FUGLY!".  Finally got it on the boat and it measured at 36.5" of course i would have pics but pc is broke i did however txt a pic to mr. hightide earlier today.  I wish i could show you guys a pic.  Anyway, sorry for the late entry and long post, guys.  Will be there on the 4th hope to see some ncka folks there, will be on a mango search 15.

cheers,
pern
