He guys. Gonna head out this weekend with a buddy of mine on my PB. Is there a launch ramp near paradise? I'm in a 16 footer so I'm not looking for a long run between the two.

there used to be one at paradise cay, but sadly that thing is more or less history. CLosest public launch is probably Loch Lomond...which means you have to brave the corte madera gap if the winds come up. Marin rod & gun club has a ramp as well, but that's a private club.  You could come around the corner from sausalito-- then you get the wind tihng again as you round the corner into racoon straights

crap....I really don't want to deal with the wind. Well, I may have to hit up Berkeley. Has anyone seen a report from there? It was on fire last year

When I had my Alum 16' I found the best launch was Richmond it's straight across and if it gets windy you can fish the channel just off the Richmond shore.

From the end of the channel it's about 4 miles

For the past three years, I was launching from Loch Lomond in the 16' boat (60 HP) without any trouble.  It had a deep hull.  I can only remember one time that it got a bit hairy.  Good luck out there!

Plus the fact that the wind is usually blowing from the west so if you launched at Richmond you would be running downhill on the way home. Some big halis and stripers were caught right in front of the Richmond harbor last week. The Southampton shoals are right south of the harbor and  you can catch big fish up by the brothers . Just watch the tide current if its smokin at the brothers muy peligroso( dangerous)
