Despite the weather warnings, I made it to Paradise, rolling into the parking lot around 7:15. There was one other car belonging to a couple of guys down on the pier, who were hoisting a fish just as I was sliding it into "P". Looked like a striper from where I sat.

Foggy, brisk, and couldn't tell what the wind was going to do - and hoping I'd have some regulars to shadow as it was my first time fishing out of a yak there. Then Sailfish comes rolling in, followed by Allen and Patrick, and finally Kimo. Cool! Now I could nonchalantly watch what these guys who know what the hell they are doing and not feel like such an idiot!

We got out on the water with a big tide running out and I headed to the point with Sonny and Patrick while Allen headed towards the pilings. I think I was the only one without live bait (tho Allen was kind enough to offer), and forgot the frozchies at home so decided to dropshot plastics. After about an hour, it was time for a change and so I headed over to the pilings,  and threw out a 4" floating deep diver for the paddle. Turns out that was a good move as I caught my only fish of the day - an undersized striper (and my first fish from a yak).

The weather broke, the sun came out, the wind stayed moderate, and even though I didn't catch anything else, I couldn't think of a better way to spend the morning!

Unfortunately I had to bail about 12:30, and left with everyone still out there. I'm hoping to hear they limited out, but I guess I'll have to leave that part of the story for someone else!

Guys? How'd you go out there?

Peter

(sorry, no pics from me but I saw Sonny snapping a couple, and Patrick was kind enough to capture my first on silicon for posterity.)

I was planning to fish Paradise on Saturday but had to change the plan due to family issues.  Met Peter at the parking lot as he's unloading his yak.  Fished from 8:00am til 5:00pm for nada.  Lots of bait fish in the water so maybe they not hungry.  The weather was foggy and breezy in early morning but turned out beautiful later in the day.  Trolled/drifts live Shiners from the point to the piling area and back to the point all day but no love.  Fish or no fish, I still enjoyed a day OTW and fishing with friends.  Here are some OTW pictures:

Allen was so relax OTW  :smt003

Another great day on the water. At first look we almost turned heels home but after the overcast burned off the water calmed down to almost flat conditions. The bay had me totally confused yesterday. Outgoing tide with a good wind from the west and I would still drift in and to the north....really weird.

Sonny, you are always fun to fish with..... full of positive energy.

Sorry no fish for you guys yesterday. I wonder how everybody did this morning
though. Hey Peter, beats having a skunk even if the fish were undersize.
Congrats on your first fish on the kayak. I am sure there will be plenty more to
come. Good luck on your next trip and hope to see you on the water soon.

Had great time but sadly no fish for me. The club house, WOW! So when can we have a party there?
Thanks to all and great meeting everyone. Oh dragging my yak up that hill. It was fun. I think I need wheels.
