Looks like I'll be without a vehicle this weekend, so if I want to get out it'll have to be Friday.

Total newb to pairing fishing with kayaking, but have been doing them separately for a long time.  :smt003

Anyone planning on going out?

Wish I could make it, but this stupid work thing keeps getting in the way.

Just a few tips:
There is a pretty steep hill from the parking lot, so wheels are pretty much needed.
Sometimes the launch area (Base of pier) is covered in algae and VERY slippery.
Also, sometimes when launching or landing there may be big "swells" at the launch that make it really crazy. These are just wakes from the big ferries and freighters. Just wait a few minutes and those will pass.
Due to these wakes it is also a good idea to keep your kayak away from the water's edge until you're ready to launch. At Adam's get together I believe someone's yak was washed off of the landing by a big wake.
Watch the wind! It sometimes changes directions without warning. I've been caught quite aways away from the launch before and had to paddle back into head on winds. Not fun.

Just keep these thngs in mind. Most of the time it's really nice there. Good luck!

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

Thanks for the tips, Rockhopper!

Happily I made a set of wheels out of some PVC pipe and a pair of re-purposed golf pull cart wheels. I did that specifically thinking about the long ramp down to the pier at Paradise! I don't think it will go through sand very well, but should be OK there...

Windfinder.com is showing 1mph wind at 7AM tomorrow inching up to 6mph at 10AM, so it should be nice conditions there tomorrow.

Wish i could make it man. :smt010. I actually told my boss i was taking a mental health day yesterday n tried to hit it. winds were 15-25mph. not good. but the fishing has been. i like a 3 oz ball on a three way live bait rig with a single hook.(prefferably a circle hook) n live bait has done the trick for me. I've been luck enuff to land fish these last four weekends outta paradise. on shiners or bullheads dropped straight down off the side of the yak. drift and enjoy.
I like to have fun.......

Depending on the weather , i will be there at 7 a.m. I have no yak wheels so i will drag the yak to water.
Never fished paradise, so where can i purchase bait? Or can i catch bait with sabiki rig?

I think it would be a long drag, kimo. If I'm there as early as you, I'd be happy to give you a hand. My wheels are fit to the scupper holes in my yak (Malibu Two), so it would take a stroke of luck to fit yours - prolly ought to save that luck for the bite!

I'm not sure where the closest bait would be, but I think I may try dropshotting, because I don't think I'll have time to get bait either. I'll bring a sabiki for my UL too and see how it goes.

Any tips from the paradise regulars on where the best chances would be?

The closest place for live bait is Loch Lomond Live Bait House (see info below:

Address: Loch Lomond Yacht Harbor, San Rafael, CA 94901
Phone:     415-456-0321

As far as catching a Hali, your best chances are either around the point or drifting the piling area.

Friday is usually my fishing day and Paradise has been the spot these past couple of weeks.  Unfortunately, I can't make it this week.

Sorry to miss you, Cameron! Next time then.

I must be looking at a different weather report than you though - windfinder.com says it'll be 5mph winds through mid-morning at the SF West Buoy. I hope that proves correct!

This will be kind of a shakedown cruise for me anyway.
