anchoring?

so whats involved with anchoring a kayak? chain? depth limits?

i fish sturgeon off my boat so my anchor is loaded with chain , is this needed for anchoring a yak?

The most important thing about an anchor for a kayak is that it be quick release. This is primarily for safety.

Most are attached to rope, not chain.

yep. Most use the folding type anchor since you'll be in mud. 5-8lbs is all you'll need. But like Phil said make sure you can dump it real fast. It helps to just a bit of extra rope so you are not dealing with 50 feet of line in your lap.
