Weekend Project

My neighbor is a super cool old guy that is an avid outdoorsman.  I was checking out his place and was loving his outdoor sink and counter for cleaning vegetables out of his garden etc.   He said he made it out of an old sink when he remodeled his old house.  I'm thinking wouldnt that be sweet for cleaning fish etc.

Well he called yesterday and dropped off a double sink and faucet...he's remodeling his kitchen....cool.  I cant wait to have an outdoor cleaning setup that doesn't involve me crouching in the driveway!

I made an 8x4 table out of 2x4's and 4x4's for legs with plastic lattice for the top. I also have a horse trough that I fill with fresh water and let all my gear soak in after an ocean outing. I then toss the gear on top of the lattice table ( my drying table ). Stuff dries fast and is easy. When it comes time for fish cleaning, I put a square of sheet metal on top of the lattice and use it as my cutting board. I can bend the sheet metal in funnel form and tilt it so the guts slide into a 5 gallon bucket for easy disposal.
This with a garden hose works great. Plenty of room to work and NO bending while working.

I use a hose and an old glass top patio table, though one of my friends has an outdoor sink thing that came from lowes.  Just attach a hose w/ water to one spigot and an outflow hose to the bottom of the sink and it's in buisness.  It's on wheels and about the size of a large BBQ.  

An old lady used to live in our house and had the back and side yards done in 2-4" river rock (no mowing), so I can put my gear on the rocks and hose it down.  Nothing sharp and plenty of room to drain.   Wife wants a lawn, but I like the zero maintenence yard.

There's a creek gully behind my house, so I chuck fish scraps down the hill into the brush there.  The local raccoons worship me.

I use a large l shaped counter from an old bakery, all stainless and painless. Large sink basin and industrial disposer for the guts.

Matt... if you were fishing with more than 12lb test... you'd have more and bigger fish to clean

Here you go buddy    - Definitely a very productive fishing hole   But you might want to drop your fishing line from 12 # mono to 4 # mono and you're good to go   ...oh...and leave your kayak at home......

This is an ideal first time fishing experience for children. Poles can be rented and there is no license necessary. The fish caught are cleaned and bagged.

As Stuart once said to me: "grasshoppa....when you can grab the pebble off my hand, you will catch your fair share of fish...."
