Tried launching from Capell Cove ramp instead of Oak Shores, should not have done that!  Lots of hydrilla etc on the bottom which was obnoxsious.  I just went to deeper water and pulled around a crank bait for a few miles.  Really need to get a work out!  Surprise of all surprise I did pull a monster bass off the edge of an island and had it on for a while, got it to the yak where it did a nice 2 foot high jump and came unbuttoned!  Got a good look at her though, and it looked 5 lbs plus!  Let before sun set (earlier than normal) and headed for home.  good work out but none landed!  Oh, an osprey one upped me and was tearing apart a 12 inch trout on an island near by, he flew away as I approached.  Also, some interesing wild life at the boat ramp!

I am going back there this sunday. I noticed is getting hot there, all the shallow water fish moved to deeper areas. I hope I still can catch some on the bank.

seems like there are always bass haning out behind points where there is some current coming by and will come out and jump on something swimming by.  I have done better on slightly windier days where the wind makes for current, and perhaps the chop on the water makes the fish feel like they can move around without being seen.
