Not the :smt033
A more painful stoned, GALL STONES :smt010

Awoke Friday morning 3:00 AM with burning abdominal pain on the right side and puked twice.
Took some zantac, pain eased a little but for the next day I lived with it, didn't sleep because of the pain Fri. night.

Sat. morning the wife insisted I see a Doctor and I agreed as the pain was getting worse :smt010
Went to a walk in clinic as our personal Dr. office was closed. There they did X-Rays that showed the possibility of a stone and recommended an ultra sound and blood and urine tests at an E.R. Hospital (Mercy in Redding).
We get there and have the battery of tests done that confirmed a large gallstone that was blocking the main bile duct. Vital signs very high 170/111 B.P. Temp 102. lab work showed a twice average white blood cell count indicative of major infection.
I'm admitted to the hospital around 5:00 P.M. and given an I.V. of saline sol., with antibiotics and pain killer.
They tell us, (my loving wife Mo and daughter Hannah along side) the soonest I would get surgery could be 9:00 PM or 3:00 AM Sun. morning. So we wait it out and find out at 11:00 PM, that the Surgery would be pushed back until sometime Sunday morning. My wife goes home for some sleep as I ride the wait out in bed all drugged up
.
My wife :smt008 returns Sun. at 7:30 AM and still no confirmed surgery time yet. We spend the morning waiting for the green light that doesn't come until 1:00 PM :smt012  I'm wheeled into the O.R., prepped and put under, next thing I know they are waking me in the recovery room and I'm wheeled back to my room. The only pain I am experiencing is the God Damn catheter shoved up my dick. :smt010 and more pain when they remove it! :anger :anger :anger

The wife and daughter:smt008 bless there hearts, comfort me the rest of the evening as I learn the burning pain of pissing after catheterization OUCH! she heads home at 11:30 for some well deserved sleep, while I recover and get checked for vitals every 2 hours and don't sleep a wink.

Maureen is back at my room at 8:00 AM Mon. as I eat my first real meal in 3 days :smt003 They continue to monitor me until the Dr. walks in at 3:00 PM and asks me how I feel. I tell him "I FEEL GREAT except for the burning pain every time I pee" He then asks me if I want to go home. DUH. I tell him "as soon as possible" and an hour later we are on the way home with pain meds in hand. :smt003 :smt003 :smt003

And that is how Tad and Mo spent their weekend :smt008

PS: yes, it still burns when I piss :angryfire:

Tad, I am so glad everything came out OK.  Boy, that really sounds like quite a indescribably painful experience!   :smt009  Wish you and your wife a speedy recovery!!! :smt006

I know your pain Tad. I also had a blocked and infected gall bladder back in '03. Now long gone thankfully, but it took my doctor/hospital 7 months to figure it out. It was a long time in pain. :smt009

I am glad to hear all is well. That was a very painfull experience, the ER doc had me on dalauded. Man what a ride! Hope you got some too.

I sat around for a week and then was promply back at the cove salmon fishing.  :smt003

Take it easy and dont forget to let the wife to all the work. :smt002

Get well soon!!!!  There are probably a few fish missing you.  It also sound like your wife is building up a lot of husband points: but, I don't think paying these off will be hard on you.
