A buddy of mine, in SoCal, shot me this site and said he ordered his set from here and they work just as well as the true brand. Worth entertaining, as I will probably be going this route myself. There are also some other pretty cool items listed on the site.

That is the mini cart made for sit in kayaks don't work well on a loaded SOT

Good point, I didnt think about the size as I just assumed that it would work for all of them. My bud has a Hobie Adventurer and it works fine under it apparently. I am going the Adventurer route myself in the future, so I was looking for something more cost effective, and he turned me onto this.  I am not sure how much wider other SOT units are in comparison to the hobie though. I believe there are other wheel sets on the site for sale as well, plus if you order them, the conversion rate works in our favor compared to the Canadians.

If I was buying a $2k Kayak I wouldn't worry about saving $50 on a kart it will be money well spent.

I just got back from returning my cart to West Marine. It was interesting as they just seemed out of place dealing with online purchases, both when I picked them up and now when I returned them. I emailed Karen at Hook1 and explained my situation . She said she would double check with Roleez when I place the order that I am actually getting the smooth polyurethane wheels. The description on their website indicates that they are the polyurethane wheels whereas the description on the West Marine website did not. I will post further when I get more info.

I feel really bad because all the problems people had on the kayak cart purchase from West Marine. Luckily because the level of customer service in WM you don’t loose money (I hope). By the time I fount the special on WM was to late for me to take “advantage” of the price because I wanted it for the meeting at Paradise Park on May 23 so I bought mine at Adventure Sports in Sacramento with the PVC tires. At that time I didn’t know those had problems. Few days later my wheels looks really bad (attach picks). Trying to know what the problem with the PVC wheels is, I went to the Wheeleez office in Benicia. Over there they have the new and nice kayak beach cart with the polyurethane “P.U.” wheels but, they have the PVC wheels also. I think they know those are defective. My impression about the manager Mr. Leonard is: He is not customer service oriented, to say something nice about him.

Sanperpe,

Don't feel bad about sharing what looked like a great deal. I appreciated the fact you brought to our attention. I am also glad some of the veterans joined in on the thread and conveyed their experiences. I think that is what makes this such a great site, all the great people willing to share and help out. By the looks of your wheels, I definitely feel better about returning mine to WM. I am sorry to hear you weren't so lucky. I hope you find a way to resolve your issue.

Thanks again,
Ray

We sell 'em at Aquan (the non crappy wheels) and we will price match any other dealer (but not on line deals or on line stores)

NCKA gets 10% off regular price.

Hook 1 and Kayak Fishing Supplies list their Wheeleze as having 176# capacity but KFS ships theirs with the 30 cm wheels that make them 121# capacity. The 176# capacity are 42 cm wheels.

On other posts I have learned the 30 cm wheels are sometimes not so good, as in coming to a complete stop when rolling up steps and not traveling on sand as well as the 42's.

Any comments on this?
The fishing was so good I thought I was there yesterday!
