Ernie,

I'll see you on the water or where you usually launch (if I get there early enough).

I'll leave mine out in front of my garage if you want to use it.

Live bait is the ticket.  Small flatties being caught in the shallows, inside the kelp beds on the stretch from harbor to SC wharf.  Bigger ones on the line from Indicators stairs at Steamer Lane (40ft) to the Mile Buoy.  Rockfish at the mile buoy.

Allen, how do you keep your bait alive on a Kayak without huge water resistance from a bait bucket or a bait tube?  Also, what is the line from the indicator stairs to the mile buoy?

Hey Keith:

I usually use a bait tank with an electric pump.....sometimes just use the little plano bucket and accept the drag.

That line had halibut reported this week.  Just draw a line from those stairs out to the Mile Buoy, takes you from 30 FOW to 65..

Allen, do you also use your typical 2 Hook Stinger (Halibut Rig) with sliding sinker on live bait?  Do you also hook the Bait the same way if you are using the stinger setup?

Yes if the bait is big, otherwise just a single treble hook through the nose.
