We (me and Amphibian Jr) got to the parking lot early and the water was completely calm. It was flat even on the outside rocks where the water is usually breaking. We paddled out to a cove and the water was full of algea or sediment. The vis was horrible. We stayed with it and got our 6 abs. All the abs were 8-8 3/4. I shot a greenling with a pole spear. We stopped out in the open to try to fish but only caught one black.

I found some fat urchins in some deeper water in crevices. I don't know how to prepare them so I left them alone.

Since you got fresh Ab.  Did you tried my pressure cooked Ab recipe yet?

Good work Amp and Amp jr.

Yeah, the plankton has been going gangbusters up here for about 3 weeks.  Good for fish, bad for fishing.  It started thinning out yesterday north of Fart Bag.  I think we're passing the peak for this bloom.

Good haul.  That Van Damme is an amazing ab producer.  There's always plenty.

Nice job Merv.  Let me know when you are coming up again and maybe we can hook up for some fishing and/or diving again.

Urchin are easy prep. Turn upside down take a knife and cut around mouth you'll see a line were to cut. Turn right side up and shake everything out turn back upside down look inside shell. You'll see what looks like roe, yellow to orange in color, in five spots around the inside of the shell. Take a spoon and scoop it out. Put on a slice of sourdough add a little Lennon juice yum yum very good. Just don't look at what you shock out or you'll never try it.
  Tight lines Dale
