Tues 9/27 San Quentin stripers

Two versions:
Short:
ChuckE and I launched from the bay center park launch about 8ish.  Paddled over to the quentin rock wall, trolling along the way.
Managed to squeek out about 30 fish each- all schoolies, nothing of any real size. All on blue/white x-raps.

Long:
Can't recall whether we caught a fish trolling at the rockwall or just stopped to cast, but as soon as we got there we were into them.  For a while it was wide open- fish on nearly every cast.  Caught quite a few there- 8 or 10 each, then slowly moved westward down the wall...nailing schoolies as we went.  Some where along the way we ended up at the little watchtower cove around the corner. Chuck got a nice one there, but lost it at the boat- all the while being heckled by convicts!

We tortured the stripers in that general area for a few hours...finding and losing the schools.  Then about 11:45 or so, began the paddle back.  Picked up a couple of more off the rockwall again.
Hit the bridge (rod & gun club side), and chuck found a massive school sitting in 4-7 feet of water.  Same deal, cast, bam, cast, bam- then the school just disappeared.
Picked up another fish each along the pilings, then paddled back. Off the water by 1:30pm.
Not a bad way to end six weeks of vacation.

I so wanted to be there, just to much to do  right on guys sounds like you had a great time

I rented a ponga ther a few weeks back.  All we got we Salmon Grouper and Lingcods.
