It was gorgeous on the water, flat and glassy.  alas the fish weren't on the bite.

We struck out by Black's Point this morning, despite a good team try.

One rockfish amongst the five yak anglers.... Using a variety of bait/lures.

I heard Ernie and KHMunger were catching some RF up at the lighthouse.

I'm looking forward to fishing with these guys again, and soon, so we can have our mutual revenge on the ocean together..

Allen

It was all good.

Got to meet the infamous SCAllen, as well as Porky(Brenden), Darious and Earnie.

It was overcast, cool, flat -- perfect -- except for the fish thing  :smt002

On the water at 7:00ish off about 10:00. My son Jake, and I, hadn't had enough, so we went out again until about 1:30 when the wind and chop kind of took the fun out of it.

Earnie pulled in right behind us with a nice fish ...

Allen, it was good meeting you this morning, as well as Ernie. (Matthew, here, with the yellow revolution.) I'm quickly learning that one of the best things about kayak fishing is the people one meets.  :beer2

It was truly a great day to be on the water. I ended up fishing the kelp on Pleasure Point, and getting two under-lings 18" and...23 3/4"! The first fish I've hooked from the yak, so I was stoked even if I did have to send them back. I'll definitely be heading back next Saturday for my vengeance and, hopefully, a keeper!

What looked like a sleeper day, Ernie ended up with one of the largest Blacks I have seen and I ended up with a keeper Ling.  We had to work hard but it ended up "Worth It".

Fish or no fish, it's still great to be on the water on a good day.  Thanks for the report Allen and for the pictures FishFarmer.

Hi FF:

Thanks for posting, my PC is Dead and my Memory card is full. :smt044
It was good to see Yakers on the water and to watch Khmunger catch his
Ling. Khmunger and I worked the SW Kelp beds by the Light House untill It just got Too Windy. I was using 2 Whole Squid on a Stinger Leader tied to a three way.
I lost One nice Copper and had one C&R! :smt001 The Black gave me three good runs before he ran out of Gas. I only need one nice Fish, too bad it wasn't a Halibut.:smt002

Allen,

Thanks for letting me use your new Trident 11, I had a great time. No worries on not getting any fish, thats just the way it goes. Its just awesome to be out there on a kayak with those water conditions.

Nice to meet all the others too, hope you all had fun!

See you all in the water.

Glad you guys were able to get out even if the fishing wasn't hot. Thanks for the report. I have yet to get out in the salt in my yak this year. Just too much going on. Hopefully July will be my month.
