Well, I grew up in the 70's, so "classic rock" is just "rock" to me.  :smt002  Stones, Beatles, Eagles, Zeppelin, Frampton, Deep Purple, ZZ Top, Skynyrd, AC/DC, Santana...they're all on my ipod, and then some.  But I'm not stuck in the 70's.  :icon_r&r:  My interests run the gamut from rock to reggae, surf guitar to hip-hop.  I'll even listen to some country and like it (something I swore would never happen back in the 70's).  The only thing I despise is disco and polka, but you never know...

Just a taste of other stuff I like:

Ozomatli
Rodrigo Y Gabriela (awesome guitar work)
Current Swell
The Penetrators
Fishbone
Herb Alpert's Tijuana Brass - Whipped Cream & Other Delights Remixed (brings back memories!)
Matisyahu
The Swamp Coolers
Tomoyasu Hotei (really awesome guitar work!)
Wolfmother
You don't quit playing because you get old, you get old because you quit playing...

I like it all, rock, rap, folk, whatever. But I've been downloading Jake Shimabukuro lately. I first saw him at a Jimmy Buffett concert a few years ago. I didn't know a ukulele could do that....

Searching is half the fun: life is much more manageable when thought of as a scavenger hunt as opposed to a surprise party. -Jimmy Buffett

I grew up with hip-hop. I remember listening to "The Message" back when my family first moved to Baltimore in 1981. I was 5 years old. I've been listening to rap / hip-hop / whatever you wanna call it ever since. The funny thing is, though, is that I hate the majority of rap music...lol. Most of the played out BS you hear on the radio I can't stand. But I had Run DMC, The Fat Boys, Kurtis Blow, and the likes on wax back then. Today some of my favorite rap artists are Eminem, Method Man, Xzibit, E-40, Daz, 50, Dre, Cube, etc.

I was also at the age to like 80's heavy metal and even some (get ready) glam rock! Everything from Motley Crue, Poison, Ratt, to Metallica, Megadeth, and Slayer.

I also listen to some R&B. Both old school and new. From Otis Redding and Al Green to 112 and Jodeci.

80's type top 40 music? Like that too...but that's just if I happen to hear it on the radio...there's none of that on my MP3 player. Everything else is on there, though, and 90% of my 1300+ songs are recorded from my CD collection and not DL'ed.

Good topic.
