Hello all
Does anyone have any info on going to the island?
I live in the central valley and am looking for a spot this weekend fairly close not too far south and not too far north any information would be great. Or if anyone is goin out this saturday somewhere in that area it would be great to hook up.

THanks

you will need a 20/0 hook and a chunk of seal meat.  troll it about 100 ft back in a zig zag pattern. look for sandy bottoms about 30-50 ft in depth.  make sure you use heavy enough gear to handle them.  they can rip off 200 yards in no time.  keep your feet out of the water.  when he hits you, you will know.

Yep, the landlord rules Ano.Plus most of the reef is a MPA now... I know there are spots to fish near the no fly zone, but there are places just as fishy around that don't present the legal or natural hazards.

in other words, wait til next week and hit HMB or maybe bean if you have the experience for that type of thing.  IF you need to go this weekend MBK/SC would be a decent alternative.

I do think the island is off limits to everyone.  The seals, sea lions and birds own it now.

we are just trying to keep you safe =)

i usually make monterey in about 2-2 1/2 hours from turlock.  I dont think natural bridges or ano nuevo is really that much closer?  If you really want the ocean, its a drive from where we live no matter where you go.

Hi ShotGun:
McClures Beach is another place to stay away from because,
"Great White Sharks are known to patrol the waters off McClures Beach. Surfing and swimming are not permitted."
A local told me their was some huge Abs at Elephant Rock. I wonder why the large Abs at E. Rock? :smt044
