I am looking for a replacement to my el cheapo current system of layering a 6mm hooded vest under my 4/3 surfsuit. I saw the Mako 5mm suits on their website for the great price of $225.95. Anyone have any experience with these wetsuits? I dive for abalone along the North Coast and also spearfish during surf trips to Big Sur. I know 7mm is the standard recommendation along the North Coast but Mako doesn't make a 7mm suit. The 5mm would certainly be a lot warmer than my current configuration. I would appreciate any input on the quality of the Mako suits.

Dano (the owner) said they will have 7mm this fall. I bought a speargun from him and asked about the 7mm. He is on the east coast and said he didn't realize there was such a demand for 7mm over here.

That's good  to know. What do you think of their spearguns?

They are outstanding. They are the same gun as the Rabitech. I have the predator 90.
