Took today off and decided to try my luck at DM. Arrived around 7:45am and hit the water. It was rather windy there this morning. The wind died down a few hours later. Found some calm areas in the trees. Off the water at noon.

My first cast of the day was a pumpkin Senko. Threw it out, then set the rod down to arrange a few things and study the wind. Noticed my line was moving in a different direction...hooked up a nice fat 17" LMB on my first cast. Well, that was it for most of the day. I did hook a little LMB on a topwater a few hours later. Lots of dinks hitting and letting go.

The big PB's were motoring in and getting ready for the long weekend. I headed out as a parade of yachts were heading into the slough.

Hope you all have a fun, safe weekend..Al

Here's a few pics.

I like this little boat.

Al sounds like you had a great day.  That one bass is a very nice one.  I was thinking about hitting the meadows early Sunday morning but may give Consumnes a shot or the port of sac after seeing all the big boats.  I will post up if I do any good.

Good idea Paul. DM will be very busy this weekend. I stopped by the CRP on my way home yesterday. Looked real nice out there.
