Eagle Lake opens for fishing next weekend. I am going to be up on the property for the weekend, the following week and weekend (10 days). We are about 15 miles north of the lake. I have going up the the property for almost 20 years now and still have not put a line in the water. I am strapping the yak to the top of the truck and I am determined to do it this visit.

Come on up and join me.

Man I wish I could go, I love that lake. I make an annual trip there every October and limit out every time. It to dangerous there later in the season for a kayak but spring and summer would be awesome. If you have a fly rod make sure you bring it. My father-in-law was up there this time last year and got skunked fishing bait (the usual method for fishing that lake). But he said fish were jumping all day. Good luck.

Good idea. Thanks for the suggestion. I have the spinning gear ready to pack. I will add the fly rod to it although I am not a skilled fly fisher. Worth a try.

The crowd is building. Now we have:

Dave and Peggy
Harry
Paul and family
Kenny and four friends, maybe a couple others
Bob
and a couple maybes.

Still lots of room for more. Open bunks in the bunk rooms and lots of space for campers or tents. I am stuffing the coolers with stuff like venison, abalone, smoked pheasant, etc. We are going to be building fences, shooting coyotes, eating too much and having a general good time. I am taking my kayak and fishing gear so that I can hit Eagle Lake a few mornings and see if can tangle with one of those Eagle Lake trout.

I will be headed out in the wee hours of tomorrow morning but will check my email one last time.
