Nice day - weatherwise! Very little wind, and the swells were much lower & farther apart. Fishing for me was a bit slower - but I only wanted to keep one which I did manage. Fish were a bit smaller this week too.

Met Harold - good to see you. Also ran into Izzy & his crew - Izzy had a real nice gopher but I didn't get a photo of it. Maybe he'll post it. Last photo below shows Izzy on the right - don't know who the other folks were.

Saw several sea lions including one BIG male. Got a couple decent shots of an otter as he swam by me.

Bill,

Nice meeting you on the water again. My friends and I only scratched a few fish each. I did get a 3-lb Red on a brown scampi tipped with squid at around the point on the outer right. The other interesting thing is to witness 2 whales passed by the kelp edge at about 80 ft of water, which is about 100 ft from where I fished inside the kelp bed. I heard the sound, saw the mist of water vapour, then saw the second whale's whole back rolling up and down. Don't know what whale it is. The color is like a harbour seal, light gray with some dark grey spots. Awesome. Pelican troops made frequent fly by. The second picture shows the other 2 fisherman on an inflatable. They seemed to do about the same as we did.

Nice red there. Whales In The Mist must have been amazing. I want to get back to that spot really soon!
