Anybody know where to find the good ol' fashioned collapsible crab traps around here?  Haven't been able to find 'em anywhere.  Sportco back in WA had 'em for $15 on sale, I figured I'd be able to find them around here but thus far no dice.  Been using a ring but would love to lob an unescapable trap their way.

Outdoor Pro Shop Oakland just got a big order of those traps in. Sharky and I have been bugging them to order more and they finally do, near the end of the season.

Fishermans W-House doesn't have them? I recall seeing something there. Maybe I was just seeing all the landing nets.

I have 4 of those foldable approx 3 ft x 2ft x 1 ft rectangular traps.
If you get to aptos anytime i would be happy to give you two with buoy and ropes.

I only use two when and if i ever use them. Thay were free to me and i will give them to you free as well. What goes around comes around.

Not sure these are what you are lookinf for, but there it is.

Whoa, stoggie appreciate that!  I may have to make it out to your neck of the woods tomorrow.  Any 6-pack preference?

Bring your yak if you are coming. We can fish capitola for some 'buts or sea bass.
I will be out there around 6:30.

I should be back home early afternoon if you come later.
Let me know if you're serious about coming.

Oh yea, the important stuff. I drink most anything any decent ale, but not necessary.

Dang, would love to but that's probably too early for me tomorrow  :smt005  Plus, still getting all geared up.  Got the pole/reel, still need to start stocking up on the tackle.  I'd like to get out with some of the people here before I move in early July though (and rumor has it my days are going to be a lot more free shortly  :smt003) .  I will give you a call tomorrow though!

After depleting their stock I went back and found one Mike had hidden away in his secret stash in the back. I pulled it out and bought it while he was away hunting Steelies...Brutal!...  :smt044  :smt044  :smt044
Like AS said, they have em back in stock at around $20 ea. Remember to put in TWO 4 1/4" escape rings in the top of the trap to make it CalDFG compliant. these can be made by slicing rings off of a male to male 4" PVC coupling......
