Thinking about going over this wekend, set some hoop nets, and troll for butts then pull hoops for some dungies.  Sharkin is good there too in the summer, might soak some squid whle waiting to pull hoop nets.  Anyone wanting to hook up? Anyone fish this area other than from shore?

I have fished that area a lot from shore and somewhat less trolling for salmon.  Actually we nailed a hali one time trolling for salmon in shallow water, and I have caught halis just casting bait off the end of the spit.  It seems a little early for the flatties but what do I know.  I would say your best bet for the shark and ray fest is going to be Bolinas Lagoon.  They move with the tide so you get them and then the bite stops and you have to move.  I could be there but more likely rigging up for GCSIII.  Last time I fished Stinson was for perch last winter and I got one on the fly, wading.  You might want to rig a light rig to throw some grubs at perch if the hali aren't hitting.

I catch sharks and rays there all the time from shore, and tie rootbeer beadhead leech patterns for perch right at the breakers, and the inlet.  I usually do very good.  We crab off the wall at the inlet, and get a few crabs.  I was thinking about going out a bit at low tide, while wife and kids play on the beach, and fish the lagoon at high tide.  BBQ! on the outgoing.  Pretty sure live bait is out, so I will either have to soak squid, or pull frozen anchovies or hoochies for butts.  I caught one at the inlet last year, it was a shaker, but, it was late in the summer.  I think there will be some action to be had, I just have to bring everything, and be willing to change up gear.

During high tide, fish the lagoon from shore, or yak.  Through out some squid, and set your drag really light.  The sharks hammer it.  Outgoing, I fish the outlet, and usually fish for surf perch out by where the outlet meets the ocean.  Crabbing is great out past the breakers with hoopnets.  Should be some butts out there, I am hoping to hit some on Saturday.

Yeah I hear the sharkin at stinson is excellent.  I would suggest you goggle, " stinson beach shark attacks". Thought you might want to know if you are new to the area.

We shore fished for the most part in the lagoon.  I know there are whites not far off shore there, but the odds of  great white biting and killing me are far more remote that getting killed driving to work everyday, yet we do it.
