We,ve had a site reserved for some time now, I think there will be room for another tent or two, and there is  an extra lot for cars and if its self-contained, meaning with a toilet, you can park it on the beach lot and camp there. Ab diving, fish spearing a bit of shore fishing and camp shenanigans to be had for all. Im the only NCKAer so far and will miss my extended family... :smt006

Ben, I left you a message in your original thread but didn't hear from you. Anyhow, I signed up with Wallin's ab dive at Van Damme Saturday, so I'll probably see you there. I booked a non-refundable room in Mendocino already. What color is your yak? I'll give you a howler on the radio.

Right on Guitarzan, darn too bad just a day too late. I'm heading up there tomorrow to do a little search for some snails and some rockies for mother's day.  I wish I can stay up there for another day but had to work Saturday.  Good luck and hope to see you on the water again.

I'd like to come down and meet you guys, but here's the forecast:

SAT
N WIND 15 TO 25 KT. WIND WAVES 4 TO 6 FT. NW SWELL 9 TO 10
FT. PATCHY FOG.

SUN
NW WIND 10 TO 20 KT. WIND WAVES 3 TO 4 FT. NW SWELL
9 FT. PATCHY FOG.

Hate to say it, but it's gonna suck.  I'm sure you can get snails if you're determined, but I'm a fair weather diver.

VHF 69, hope to see you guys up there, E- sorry I didnt get back to you, that was a while ago, dont know why I flaked on the message but the more the merrier as far as Im concerned.
Any newbies diving for abs, a bit of advise: You would think low tide is the way to go but dont do it, it only gives you a few extra feet of verticle dive, but the floating kelp thickens exponentially on a low tide and thats what kills people, dont do it on a low tide if your not used to swimming up for a gulp of air thru thick and moving kelp.
Keep a sharp dive knife strapped to your forarm, on the inside so as to not get tangled in the kelp, dont strap anything on the outside, and ALWAYS try to be calm, relaxed and dont panic, even if you lose your mask, dont lose your cool. People drown with their head less than a foot from the surface because they panic when they lose their mask. Not scare anyone, but it takes lives every year because of some of these things.
We will be camping In the park, ask the nice :smt005 lady at the
gate for Doug Griffin site, I think its the first one, white Dodge pickup with a shell and NCKA stickers, there will be a big 5th wheeler there too(Dougs) and lots of pretty girls. :smt007
