Left Pinole around 5:15am this morning and arrived in Van Damme around 8:00am.  When we pulled in the parking lot, there was nobody there.  So we get the kayaks ready and suit up. The plan was to head towards the south island.  There was a little breeze but it was nice and flat.  We dove in 20' h2o and the visibility was about 10'.  The surge was pretty strong but manageable.  We pulled our limit of abs and there was nothing to brag about.  Swam around for another hour and speared some good size perch. I shot about 8 of those bad boys.  So I guess fish fry's and abs for mother's day.  We left around noon and the swells were picking up quite a bit.  Hopefully the weather will lay down for weekend warriors.  On our way home, we saw Guitarzan headed up towards Mendo.

A day trip to VD from the bay area is a workout all it's own, done a few of those myself, love that place, glad you had a good trip.

Perch are thick in there this time of year, tasty...
