4/23 (Thur) Fished 10:30 am - 12:15 trolling from Honker Cove Boat Ramp toward dam.
5 Rainbows 9"-11" (3 on silver Kastmaster, 1 on F5-J Rapala Fire Tiger, 1 on black BH Crystal Bugger [#6])  all toplining 130' back from kayak.
I was disappointed not to get any bigger ones given all the publicity of big fish planted last year.  Lots of small fish jumping.
Wind came up big time at 11:30 blowing 15+ mph steady (2' waves and whitecaps . . . was I in Raccoon Strait at slack tide in the late afternoon???).  Water temp. 56 deg. and air was maybe 57 deg. ?

4/22 (Wed) fished Lower Sardine Lk (Lakes Basin - Sierra Co) for 1 Rainbow (12.5")  on black BH Crystal Bugger trolling on top 150' behind kayak.  Wind blew in gusts to 10 mph and water temp was 45 degrees.

This morning it was snowing (8+" accum.) but it was light snow and should melt quickly.  Road to Sardine is open  and Sierra Co was plowing 2-3' of snow on Gold Lk Hwy.  About 9 camp sites are avail at Sard. Lk. Cmpgrd. ( others are under water or snow),  but all other campgrds. are closed at this elev.

I've been wondering about Davis. Thanks for the update. Was there snow on the ground at Davis? Is it easy to drive out on the points yet?

Davis is free of all snow.  There are only a few patches in the shade and it's not easy to find snow.  I was only at Honker Boat Ramp area so I do not know about access to the points.  I'm sure snow will not stop you, but mud???

I have hardly fished the past 18 months.  We've renovated one house, took care of mother-in-law's estate after she died last July, sold two houses, bought a fixer bank-owned property and retired.  That's nearly overload for me!  I've been lurking at this website and wishing I could get out.  Now I have time and expect to log some decent catches between the renov. jobs on our new house.  I  hope to post a lot in the coming months.
