A friend just invited me to go to New Melones this weekend camping.  Will be fishing the AM hours on Saturday and Sunday.  Maybe take a little trip out at night too!  Never been there before, but looks like some promising fishing reports for Kokane and Bass.  Could really use something to put up on the leader board!  Any tips on fishing this lake would be appreciated!  :smt001

I just pulled in the door from up there.  Fished Melones yesterday, launched from the visitors center access.  It gets windy, so be prepared.  Fished with soft plastics-Senkos, brushogs(watermelon) and lizards(brown/red).  We caught about 15 bass in 2-3hours.  Should have stayed until dark when the lake got smooth for topwater.  Looked promising.  Good luck!

ps-don't try to access the lake at Parrott's Ferry- the gate is locked and it is a looooong way to the water from the gate.
