Well, Shannon and I launched the kayaks at OP to dry trolling/drifting for halibut on both Saturday and Sunday.
Om the troll both days we had all of two scratched baits.  Drifting, i had two baits cut in half (damn stinger hooks failed me) and Shannon hooked up a butt on Sunday estimated at 28" but she lost it at the net.

I am still craving a halibut dinner, glad we have stores or i would be starving right now.
Sucked as well as the radio chatter sounded good but no love for us.
If it does not rain this weekend, we will be back at it once more, same place, same time until we figure it out.

We drifted and trolled from 10-15 ft.  Might try fishing shallower next time.

You guys are getting that place dialed in. Too bad Shannon lost the
fish. BTW, what were you using for bait? Good luck next time Surf Hunter.

I also think it is a matter of time.  We have never fished there by kayak or boat for that matter so it is a learning curve.  We were both trolling and drifting with frozen herring.
Trolling with the three way dodger set up and drifting with a three way rig.

Its only a matter of time till you get into them.  You guys have a solid foundation of knowledge to start with, and are getting out on the water quite a bit.  Good try, keep at it...

WTG, SH!

Coupla scratched baits and a hook-up are enough to keep the madness going!

I'm already fiendin' to get back out!

It was nice seeing you guys there on Sunday. I know very few couples that fishes enjoys & fishes together as much as you do. It's a thing of beauty really. You guys may have had a humbling experience but Shannon told her story so spiritedly. I'm sure it'll be a matter of time before you get into 'em big time.

My maiden expedition out there on a yak only resulted in one missed hit. I'll be back out there more prepared tho'.  See you on the water.

It was great to see you as well Hookie.
Ya know, i think you hit the nail on the head.  Shannon and I love to fish together, hell, she is more hard core at fishing then a lot of guys i know.  Catching is secondary to the time spend on the water.  That said, we will be back this weekend and every other weekend until we catch one and start fishing a new spot dang it.

That's great spirit!  Thanks for the report.
