Domenic invited me and my son Collin for perching at the MOE yesterday.  What a hoot it was.  Collin played in the little waves, I shot videos, we had a fire and s'mores - it was Good Times for sure, but I let Collin play in the waves a little too long and he got kinda inconsolable when he realized how cold he was.  He's gonna be a tough little guy.   :smt002  He did get a chance to pull in a couple of fish and play with them in the bucket, but he was more into the waves and the beach in general.  He got a good thrill out of walking up on a baby seal and having it start to move at his feet - "hey, Dad, I found something dead and now it's moving!"   :smt044  Once I got him back to the truck and up the road to Mama and some hot tub therapy he was all back to normal.  I went back down and re-joined Domenic.  The bite had been OK, but kinda slow.  We had 8 or 10 fish in the bucket.  We re-stoked the fire and had some hot dogs and a few more beers and then the bite got hot.  Domenic filled out our limits with a double hookup and we wrapped it up.  What a great time - Thanks, Domenic, for inviting us and sportin' the bait and tackle.   :smt001

Being an honorable sportsman is way more important than what you catch.

Nice report and pictures, I wish we had a beach in my area(Monterey Bay) that allowed vehicles on it. Must be pretty convenient

If you're not living on the edge - you're taking up too much space!

Domenic, Collin and I kayaked there from across the river.  The rigs that drove down there had to spend about 20 minutes on the beach and another extra 10 minutes on the road.  Kayak is the only way to go down there.

"I let Collin play in the waves a little too long and he got kinda inconsolable when he realized how cold he was.  He's gonna be a tough little guy." That's how ya toughen em up. Soak em in a cold brine for a few hours... If he's anything like his dad, he'll be skinny dippin'  in the Eel in January soon... :smt002
