It's horribly sick.  You gotta wonder what makes someone so disturbed to be able to commit such a horrid act.   :smt011

The press is just sick for even printing this garbage. I think possibly that the current media blitz over something so inhumane and cruel should not be sickly glorified by printing this shit! Do you think that maybe somewhere this sick fuck is gloating over his press? Disgusting. The papers should be castrated for allowing this to go to print. Craig

99.9% chance he is.  Most people who do these cruel and inhumane acts do it to be recognized - they relish in everyones horror.   :angryfire:

It's rough, Craig, but the news has to get out or the vast numbers of us who care so much won't be informed - I hear what you're saying though.   :smt009

This is a horrible thing, and, unfortunately, it happens all the time.  Did you see Slumdog Millionaire?  I just about had to stop watching it due to the disgusting truths that they portrayed in the film.

It's hard but important to face the fact:  there are some total sicko's out there.  There are things I can control, and there are things I cannot control.  I will focus harder on those things I can control.

Here's a "half-full" part:  isn't it a ***** blessing that we, kayak fishermen of all things, are a group that seems to represent some of the finest qualities in the realm of caring, reaching out, giving, doing the right thing...etc.  I for one am so thankful to be part of this community, and our common reaction to shit like this is a good thing, part of what I can control, something that makes me so god-damned proud, and something that I can use as a tool to help me and mine keep a smile while the inevitable processes of society and life in general occur around us.  I'm not kidding about this:  we're kind of like the "Guardian Angels" - remember that group with maroon berets in NY, Chicago and other major cities back in the 80's that protected people on subways and in buses and slums?

If I see someone doing the wrong thing I will act - that is what I'm made of.  Turn it positive, and be glad to be associated with people that would give you the shirt off their back and money from their wallet.

I can't always put a smiley face on my posts, but I always want to think that way.

Eric, I realize that word needs to be put out to inform an unaware public of hienous crimes so we can heighten our awareness to compromising situations. But to go into detail about the Hello Kitty shirt still on this poor childs body is way too much. WAY TOO MUCH! This is the part I find unequivically immoral to print. God bless the innocent child who knows only love and trust. I am wrought with emotion that todays society is infiltrated with people who would do such things. There is no Half-full here. Only a warped mind preying on weakness.

not trying to get too "moonbeam" about this but whoever did this is evil.  Evil likes it when we get so pissed off we dream of torturing others.  Catch the guy, make sure he is the right guy and I can throw the switch myself.  But I will try to do it as a matter that needs to be dealt with.  Not with hate.

The media can get this info out without glorifying the crime.  I really think about this when you read about a sexual assault that lists the particulars of what happened by listing the crimes with shocking specificity.

Abking is right though, when you see a child that looks scared and alone, take the time to ask if they are OK.  See something really strange?  Follow up.  The folks I have met via the kayak truly are a cut above.
