Cambria to fish or not to fish.

My wife and I are going to be saying at Cambria Pines lodge next weekend and I was wondering if I should bring the yak. Could I fish the sandy beaches for halibut and perch or sabki some bonito or baitfish?  I guess what I'm asking is can I fish at all or should I not try because rockfishing is closed? Thanks for any opinions.

Just my two cents, Bring your shore gear for Perch and rockfish, at least if you catch some rockfish you can eat them.

I really wanted to take the kayak, but it seems like the rockfish closure makes it impossible.  Thanks Dogpound
