My wife & I are planning a backpack trip along the lost coast in the later half of September this year (somewhere in the 14th to 26th range).
Since I've never hiked this route I figured I'd troll for some tips or advice & try to take advantage of the huge knowlege library that is NCKA.
The plan is to take 5 days, to provide a layover day or two & enjoy the place.

The tides I see for that time aren't the best for ab hunting, but I believe the season will be open. I wouldn't be looking for giants, but an ab for dinner while backpacking sounds really good (& might score a years' worth of WAF).  Should I get an ab card for the trip?
I do plan on packing a rod/reel for some shore fishing if I can keep the pack weight to a resonable level (I hear the main problems are hiking in the sand & cobblestones).
We're both in pretty good shape, but this will be our first BP trip in about 9 years.

Any intel is appreciated & will be kept on the DL if so requested. Thanks in advance!

Sean - please send me a PM with the itinerary you have so far and I'll add what I can in terms of local area knowledge, the sweet spots, and some advisories.  And get that ab card - it's worth $20 to legalize your Lost Coast dinner.   :smt002
