Just like to know what Paddles all of you like?(Brand/style) What length and how did you find what length worked for you?
Thanks Jack

Generally speaking the lighter the better but also the more $$$. Seam has a nice one I saw at the HMB tourney, I forgot the brand though. I have a Bending Branches Kevlar that is very nice.

If you are going to be at Elk you will have plenty to try out.

I use a swift carbon fiber paddle with a touring blade (LOVE IT) ....I'm 5'11 and paddle a prowler 15 = so I use a 240 paddle length.

The width of the kayak factors in with the lenght of the paddle you will be using. Scwafish Sean sells a really nice carbon fiber paddle (forgot the brand) that can adjust in lenght  = THAT sounds like a winner to me!!

I've used both swift & werner paddles in a variety of situations. Used to be, swift paddles were light but delicate and werners were slightly heavier but infinitely more durable (this use was in a high quality rental fleet). Nowadays, Swift has apparently altered their designs because the last one I used (carbon touring blade, 240cm) was a joy to use and tough too. During a test drive morning with a couple of friends we all tried this paddle & enjoyed it.
I'm still a Werner fan although their prices put some folks off. I've got a couple of ancient Werners that still perform well, and both my brothers-in law own fiberglass Werners and like them.
My advice is: If you're trying to go cheap, buy a really cheap paddle because if you get into paddling you'll want to buy a nicer replacement in a year or so. The cheap paddle can be a spare. If you are looking for a high quality paddle then go for fiberglass unless money is no object then try carbon. Personally I'm not sure if the weight savings of a carbon paddle is worth the extra money (approx $50 per ounce saved) however, the carbon's I have used do paddle nicely....

Is this the Sea, Mid, or Wind blade? I've read lots of good reviews about the Mid blade.
