I had an old cell phone charger that didn't go to any of my current phones and made it into a leash for my extra long needle nose pliers. I left the charging head on to give the tape some extra traction. I taped it down tight with electrical tape and it is very snug. I taped the other end (after cutting of the plug) to a caribiner. It's nice and light and the length is perfect.

i actually made a similar leash last night but for my rod...however i found that the leash is too short to work as a rod leash so I will have to adapt it to something else.

i made a paddle leash with some velcro and a 25' coiled telephone cord that I got from the 99 cent store, that one works really well.  unfortunately the 99 cent store near me is out of those telephone cords.

That's what I was going to say...that's where I got the ones I've made.  I need to make a couple more (since two are attached to the crate I rarely use these days) so I'm heading to Goodwill this weekend.  Gonna look for some stainless steel silverware while I'm there, too!  :smt003
